I am pleased to report that Bishop Kelley High School’s conversion to geothermal heat and air is going well. During the summer of 2012, we spent about $70,000 on Phase I of the project. This Phase I allowed us to get control over the controls of our heating and air system. This allowed us to be more efficient with what areas of campus are heated and cooled.
During the summer of 2013, we’ve been making the conversion from a boiler/chiller to geothermal heat and air for the main building at BK. This is Phase II and it’s scheduled to be completed by August 1st in time for school. During the summer of 2014, we will move forward on Phase III of the project to bring geothermal heat and air to the cafeteria and both gyms.
How are we paying for all this? You’re helping us! We have been abundantly blessed with many, many generous donors who have given BK gifts to get this done. The Catholic Foundation of Eastern Oklahoma pledged $500,000 if we could match it with gifts and committments. I’m pleased to report that WE DID IT! We had a June 30th deadline and we were able to meet the goal two days early. You can read more about it on the BK website (bkelleyhs.org).
We still have $200,000 to raise to meet the $2,200,000 goal and we welcome your assistance.
